Sick, sicker sickest - by @lbert
  Posted:28/12/2006 - 15:59 - in category: general
It is very disappointing to read in news reports that the flood victims had to pay to flee from the face of danger.
This is absolutely horrible and reflects how seriously bankrupt Malaysia's social capital is.

Nothing was prepared it took days before things started moving.

Looting is another scandal, no security at all for shop/business owners, another scandalous shortcoming.

It is really time that heads roll, no excuses accepted. The official reaction to the floods was simply disastrous, uniformed man and rescue was no where, and no official should hide behind silly excuses!. If they failed....kick them!
Authorities should take the full brunt of the blame.
But of course you cannot criticize the government..... dream on Pak Tak Tahu.

 New ministry - by @lbert
  Posted:27/12/2006 - 16:45 - in category: general
I think Malaysia needs a new ministry (don't we have enough already?), No we need a ministry of JAMBAN!
This in order to control the price of building public toilets, as in KL RM 400.000 a piece.
Almost like Istana Zakaria.
Malaysia the laughing stock of the world again, stupid bodoh!

a 24 karat golden loo set
shit in comfort??

 Floods.....nature strikes back - by @lbert
  Posted:27/12/2006 - 10:06 - in category: general
Flood always have been common in certain places in Malaysia, that is why they build their houses on stilts.
But the exessive floods the country is experiencing now is nothing else than nature strikes back!. Indiscriminate clearing of slopes, logging in forest reserves, illigal logging, silting rivers well you get what you deserve....
Some people are already crying out for years that the environment should be respected, but BN & Co gives a shit wallets count, not the environment. Well now you got it!
Total losses into the billions (Not for those with the fat wallets) no insurance covers flooding.....so there you go. Poor people suffering, they rich Umno putra's still laught their way into the bank.
Well done Malaysia.... a real step forward.

Bok house again - by @lbert
  Posted:23/12/2006 - 22:04 - in category: general
Bok House might have been merely a rich mans house, but the mansion still warranted conservation, said the Malaysian Institute of Architects.

Its president Dr Tan Loke Mun said the building was among several houses owned by the wealthy and formed the streetscape of Jalan Ampang.

Bok House might have been merely a rich mans house, but the mansion still warranted conservation, said the Malaysian Institute of Architects.

Its president Dr Tan Loke Mun said the building was among several houses owned by the wealthy and formed the streetscape of Jalan Ampang.
There is nothing wrong with it being a rich mans home. It shows the lifestyle of olden days, he said yesterday in response to a statement by Culture, Arts and Heritage Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim
(quoted from the Star)

Well seems it is time for taking the minister and DBKL to court. Let them rebuild the Bok house even if it will cost multiple millions, just teach them a lesson. This Rais Yatim is completely useless and i wonder whether he has brains and if so when he is using them.

The Bok house was a beauty i visited it a few times. Many movies were made in there too.
It could have served as a beautifull restaurant (as before as Le Coq D'ore) and for weddings. A better surrounding you could not imagine!
If it was an old Minangkabau building or so for sure it would have been preserved even if the anai would have eaten away 90%!!

Heritage is something you never get back when it is gone, $$$ are temporary anyway. But it seems thats all that counts in Malaysia.

 Semenanjung + the rest - by @lbert
  Posted:21/12/2006 - 12:23 - in category: general
When traveling through Sabah and Sarawak, 2 things i clearly noticed:
1.Racial integration is a completely accepted thing.
2. No islamic ladidah dominating everything, even the mosques tone down early morning!
Sabah is what W Malaysia used to be, a Malay, Chinese, Indian and so on gathering together in 1 coffee shop, instead of each in its own race's coffee shop.
No Islamic dominance, you want that, go to Brunei, there you think you travel through Saudi Arabia, everything written in Jawi, and for the rest absolutely nothing to do (only chocolate is 50% cheaper than Malaysia).
Of course Labuan is even cheaper. (RM 14- 'tax free' in KLIA/Kayu Hitam = RM 6.- tax free in Labuan for chocolate go figure!)
Sabah and Sarawak are refreshing with their integration of people. Keep it that way!
Now i can understand why both want to have their own immigration, at least they can keep the idiots out!

No more Bok House. - by @lbert
  Posted:21/12/2006 - 12:13 - in category: general
Another beautiful piece of heritage is gone in KL. The Bok House has been demolished fore the sake of $$$.
Does this country really give a shit about its history? When i look around a really doubt.
Government for sure gives a shit, DBKL, and in Penang government are only interested in big $$$.
Heritage organizations have no power, and the general Malaysian public also does not give a shit about their history.
Everybody is obcessed with making money.
The once who approved the demolition of the bok house should be hung in public in front of the remains!

 Cuti2 Malaysia - by @lbert
  Posted:20/12/2006 - 10:08 - in category: travel Malaysia
Back from my trip to Sarawak and Sabah.
Flown in and out by Malaysia's most delayed airline Air Asia. Their delays are getting sickening.
Sarawak was nice (Miri) no traffic jams, what a relief. For ther rest Sarawak and Sabah both are ecological disasters, all logged over for the short term gain of money. What they left is disastrous.
If you are not into mountain climbing diving or any other activity, Sabah is a disaster!
I will definitely never visit it again. You are supposed to take an organized tour for.
everything (at ridiculous prices) nothing is really worth while.
The most irritating is the way they charge entrance fee's here and there.
Kinabalu Park local RM 5-10, foreigner RM 50-
Tuanku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, local RM 10- foreigner RM 50-. Do they think that all foreigners are stupid? RM 50- is still 10 euro+ and even for an european thats money.
Foreigners, dont go those places boycott them!
Another one is Tenom agriculture park, foreigners 5x locals.
Just teach them a lesson, dont go there.
Sabah for me was a SUPER disappointment, not worth visiting a second time.
KK airport terminal 2 (open 12 month ahead of schedule) is a super disaster, you have to wade through sand mud and cement in order to get in. Totally ridiculous!
Information by tourism ministry all refers to tour operators, just as useless, waste of money all those expensive leaffletts.

Calculating the numbers... - by @lbert
  Posted:04/12/2006 - 19:33 - in category: politics Malaysia
Some figures on who represents who.....
Malaysia has roughly 26 million people.
Out of these probably 30-40% are younger than 18.
That leaves 15.6 million. Out of these 55% are Malays.
That is a total of 8.58 million.
Umno has 2 million members so who the hell they think they represent?
Right 2 million not the silent majority of 6.58 million.
Out of these 2 million how many have their fingers in the cookie jar?
Malaysia boleh or Malaysia bodoh?

Gov't mulls Internet laws against bloggers - by @lbert
  Posted:04/12/2006 - 10:48 - in category: internet / computers
That is what a government official said.
This in order to prevent them from spreading "disharmony, chaos, seditious material and lies".
Who the hell in this country spread all they above ? Yes, UMNO meetings, NST, the Star, Utusan.... Are they controlled? NO
Furthermore can it penetrate to the pea sized brains of the government officials that you CANNOT control the internet?
Ip blocking can be circumvented. And the result of any action would be many bloggers go anonymous and will move to servers outside Malaysia.
Now most bloggers are fighting their cause openly, you know who they are.
Change the law, well all goes underground and the government will be fighting ghosts, and the restraint on the site of bloggers will be gone because they are anonymous anyway.
So pea sized brain morons in Putrajaya take you pick!
Please remember.... change the world start with yourself!
