 Astro bootlickers....... - by @lbert
  Posted:27/09/2004 - 23:58 - in category: TV
Wanted to watch the repeat of the Anwar interview at my friends place.
Well all that came, no interview.
The bootlickers of Astro replaced it with an older interview.
All i could say SHIT ASTRO!
Now for sure will never put your parabola on my house. Paying RM 1000 a year for the censor?? NEVER!
Rather buy an illegal one in Thailand.
Well it was another example of Malaysia TIDAK boleh.

 Proton boleh! - by @lbert
  Posted:23/09/2004 - 18:24 - in category: general
Verdict in the UK about the Gen-2
Overall though, a smaller Ford Fiesta, an ageing Rover 25 or a bicycle are better buys.

Well done Proton.....Malaysia boleh!

"buy a periscope for extra rear visibility."

Is this the result of the Lotus investment. What a shame!

It costs in England roughly 10K that is about RM 65000.- and that is including a ridiculous high tax! See the price in Malaysia and you know you are screwed.

 Conditions apply.......... - by @lbert
  Posted:22/09/2004 - 17:32 - in category: politics Malaysia
You are a Malaysian.....but it is like any membership, conditions apply!
And as a Malaysian you have so many conditions.
You as a West Malaysia Malaysian want to travel to Sabah/Sarawak, you gotta bring your passport.
Can you imagine that? In your own country you have to bring a passport along.
If you want to work there its even worse you need a work permit!.
You are a Malaysian live in Kelantan and want to build a house?
Well you cannot buy land if you are not native and a Muslim.
Only in Kuala Krai area they might have something.
In Kedah and Perlis 3/4 of the land is not for sale if you are not a Malaysian of malay origine.
In Penang the same applies for so called wakaf land.
If you want to buy a house your malay friend (Malaysian) buys it 5-10% cheaper than you if you are non-malay (Malaysian)
Whether he is a millionair or a pauper makes no difference.
If you have a company and you fullfilled the son's of the soil quota, and the sons of the soil squandered their shares to non-sons of the soil (also Malaysians), you might be forced te refulfill the sons's of the soil quota AGAIN!
If you as a non-son of the soil Malaysian want to study different rules apply than for sons of the soil.

Do you understand anything of all these conditions, i dont.
One nation is one nation no conditions apply!
I only got a feeling that they really stink, and look more like the British practise of divide and rule.
It is so ridiculous, that i think non-sons of the soil should be forced to wear a batch, stating their status.
Same applies for non Sabahans and non Serawakan people in the mentioned areas.
This makes it easier to spot the differences and apply the conditions.
I personally find it funny that after almost 50 years of independence all these funny conditions still apply in boleh land.
They want to be devellopped in 15 years from now....can they?
I doubt with these 3rd world colonial leftovers.

Which parliament rules this country... - by @lbert
  Posted:20/09/2004 - 17:46 - in category: politics Malaysia
That is what i ask myself if i see all the attention for the yearly UMNO meeting in KL.
Money is spent by the millions, and mudslinging is the order of the day.
Every year it seems that just before the party meets some sons of the earth find it necessairy to do some mudslinging at other races.
This obviously to hide their own stupidity in reaching any goals. I am surprised Singapore does not get its yearly portion...
It proves once again that racial 'integration' is just skin deep in Malaysia.
And if you are not a son of the earth you are a big nothing.
With this difference that to my oppinion the only sons of the earth in Malaysia are the Orang Asli.
All the rest is import, all of them some later some sooner.
All the publicity on tv makes you think when get a session of parliament one that is no rubber stamp......but oh its not the dewan rakyat but UMNO party 'outing'.
This is totally ridiculous and reminds me of all those communist countries with their one party system where all the party tops are shown on TV, as the no 1 hit, all day.
It seems Malaysia is no better.
Spending millions for a party meeting is even more ridiculous.
Imagine what can be done with al the money wasted on a happy few, who probably one after the other already filled up their pockets, or are fighting for a place to start filling them.
The prominence it gets on TV is disgusting and really seting me off.
Why should I be forced to watch all the stupid blah blah blah every day on TV?
Nothing proper is achieved, its only elbow politics for the once climbing, and defending the milionaire seats for the once in power.
Wish i had a parabola, but i refuse to pay 1000- a year to another crony company.
So probably it will be the off-switch.......

 Pos Malaysia ISO 000 - by @lbert
  Posted:17/09/2004 - 15:40 - in category: general
Yesterday i needed to post a letter to Indonesia, and wanted it to be there fast.
Well there is a service EMS (Express Mail Service). A letter will cost around RM 35.00.
So i went to the post office around 3.30.
To my surprise they refused to accept the letter! Argument tomorrow is off day so we cannot accept express anymore.
Only before 13.30.
What a service that means that in Malaysia express post only works 3 days a week if you live in Kedah or Terenganu or Kelantan.
Friday is off day, Saturday is half day in the rest of the country and Sunday is off.
What a hilarious thing, and this country wants to be develloped by 2020?? Maybe but under ISO 000 inspite of all the Q's on the wall everything remains a 3rd world thing.
Now i understand why all these courier services make a fortune.
They asked RM 155- for the same letter can you imagine.....
There is still a lot to be changed in bolehland....and the postal service is not 3rd world but 5th world service.
Letters disappear, a letter from Yan to Sg Petani (30km) takes 3-4 days to arrive.
And there is no express mail on off days. Thats what they call service.
Believe it or not.......

 New winds? - by @lbert
  Posted:15/09/2004 - 09:23 - in category: TV
Last night i enjoyed another inverview Datuk Munir had with another Malaysian.
This time it was Pak Lah's son in law Khairy.
A sleek but also slippery politician.
I like the style of Datuk Munir's interviews, he knows how to go back to the question if they dont give a proper answer.
This is definitely the beginning of a new style within the TV1 and 2 limits of controlled tv of course.
But at least the beginning is there of some 'roasting' of the interviewed people.
Some time he interviewed the Air Asia CEO Tony Fernandez and i also found it very interesting.
This time with Khairy, it clearly showed the bankrubty of the Bumiputra preferences.
Even he had to admit they failed everywhere.
But of course still wants to continue them.
Only in the last minutes of the interview Khairy had to say something very negative about Anwar, that pissed me off and showed how immature politician here are.
I think even Datuk Munir was speechless.....
Looking forward to his next interview, a wind of change!

 Top heavy? - by @lbert
  Posted:14/09/2004 - 09:35 - in category: general
In Jeff Ooi's weblog there were plenty of gruelling experiences with our national airline.
Well i had my share of those.....
But i went to their website and did some research.
Mas has 12 directors (YES TWELVE)
They have 14 general manager
They have 17 senior managers
Only this total already to 43!! This times an executive salary is how many millions in one year?
Now i understand why they are inable to make money they turned MAS into a place for feeding those 'who served the country', dr M style.
I checked Singapore airlines and found:
8 directors, 4 executive managers.
And oh....they both use the accountants Ernst & Young.
And Thai air is probably the champion with 15 directors, well another state run company...

 Deficit again! - by @lbert
  Posted:10/09/2004 - 21:07 - in category: politics Malaysia
The new budget foresees a budget deficit of 3,8 percent.
That means 3.8% inflation again and this is for the 7th year in a row!!!
Offset this against the lousy FD rate in this country, a mere 3% and the people with savings are losing out for the 7th year in a row.
Furthermore the announce inflation of 1% is simply a big lie. Inflation is closer to 4-6 % i assume, but they think that figures can be massaged forever and that noone notices.
Add to the the deficit and you have 10% inflation!
Any company with 7 years of deficits of 3%+ will probably be already bankrubt (Unless a crony company), well the goverment can get away with it year after year without a protest.
But than who will protests in the rubber stamp dewan rakyat....
When do they learn to spent within the limits?
But than bonusses are part and parcel in boleh land, they are no bonusses anymore just salary and noexception but rule.
And has the goverment been doing that good? No, the economy has been doing good, not the goverment they have spend 4.5% more than they earned, but still have to give bonus.
And the so called 'good' economy got a giant boost by the high oil prices, these jacked up the economic data, but can you call them sustainable, i doubt, its the usual 'urut'.

 Youth......of 40+?? - by @lbert
  Posted:10/09/2004 - 20:50 - in category: politics Malaysia
I am amused when i watch the people in the youth wings of various parties in Malaysia.
Some are bold and age is showing. Some are probably close to 50!!
You call that youth, i bet 99% is way above 30 years of age.
I cannot call them youth, only can call them 'sampai tua'.
Isn't it high time they get kicked out and make place for real young leaders......
Or can you become millionaire as a youth wing leader too??
After all you never know in bolehland.

Mr bow tie....... - by @lbert
  Posted:07/09/2004 - 19:11 - in category: politics Malaysia
Every day we have to stare at him nowadays.
Seems like a celebrity, seems he is all out to raise his unpopularity.
All the promises in spite, i have not seen any improvement yet.
For me there is improvement when there are discussion programs where people can have different views, and ministers can be roasted.
That is improvement, not this empty talk by a minister who likes to see his face on TV

 He's still guilty... - by @lbert
  Posted:03/09/2004 - 11:44 - in category: politics Malaysia
Asked by a journalist the Tun answered: I still think he is guilty (Datuk Sri Anwar).
This inspite of the court verdict.
Is this person sound of mind?
Well probably to old to learn something....
BUT... he ruined the lives of 2 people for how many years?
Wasted goverment funds for the showcase trial that runs into the millions, all for the glory of big M.

 Finally victory!! - by @lbert

Thursday, 2 September, 2004, 10.15 BBC
Finally justice......
Anwar Ibrahim has been set free.

The same goes for his adopted brother Sukma Darmawan Sasmitaat Madja.
After all the years of injustice finally the slap in the face for Mahatir.
Now i hope the whole process will start to go after those causing this injustice including the Tun.
Mr Anwar probably will have his operation now as he wishes.
Congratulations to all lawyers and those who have been fighting for his release.

In the news... - by @lbert

Can you believe this.....
What i found in the news

The Star Online > News

Taxi, bus fares hike imminent

PUTRAJAYA: Taxi and bus operators have valid grounds in their requests for a fares hike, Commercial Vehicles Licensing Board (CVLB) chairman Baharum Mohamed said.

He said spiralling fuel price and cost of living were among the main considerations and a price review was now under way.
......
and than:
Baharum also dismissed any possibility of petrol subsidies for stage buses saying: The majority of the passengers nowadays are foreign workers and the benefits may not be fully enjoyed by our own citizens.

This is really unbelievable. Coming out of the mouth of a goverment official!
Foreign workers can go to hell as far as this person is concerned. Nice attitude towards all the 'foreign slaves' in this country.
Malaysia boleh!
