Petrol up again.... - by @lbert
  Posted:31/07/2005 - 08:18 - in category: general
Petrol up by 10 sen and diesel again by 20 sen.
I can understand the increases, but i cannot understand why twice in a row the diesel increase is double the petrol increase.
Diesel used to have a 40% advantage over petrol this is now reduced to just 20%.
Is there any justification now in maintaining a double or triple road tax for diesel cars?
ABSOLUTELY NOT!
This should be abolished now soonest.
And watch out this 20 sen increase will lead to a 20% increase on many items again. Expect your bottle of coke to go up to at least 3.50! Vegy will follow soon.
Look at tomatoes in malaysia RM 4.00 - 5.00 on the pasar! These are European prices in a 3rd world country. Thailand and Indonesia do not even charge half!
Everybody can raise-raise and get away with it..... consumers never protest in Malaysia. They just grumble at home.

 Rambutan jam - by @lbert
  Posted:28/07/2005 - 10:25 - in category: general
Rambutan abundant, free......
So its the yearly rambutan jam time.
Clean a few kilo's of rambutan, preferably the sweet sauer type, cut the flesh of the seeds.
Rambutan flesh tends to stick on the seeds.
Throw the whole thing in the blender, make it small as rumbutan does not get soft after cooking.
Add some lemon, color and sugar mixed with pectine. Cook it for 1 hour or so to thicken it.
Voila you have the perfect rambutan jam, delicious and almost for free.......
Stock for another year again, yummie!

My one and only comment - by @lbert
  Posted:24/07/2005 - 18:16 - in category: politics Malaysia
All i want to comment on the circus i saw on TV, called UMNO propaganda circus:
How dare you call for reimplementation of a new NEP!
Will rural malays be helped by giving city malays equity?
How about poor chinese families?
How about paupering Indians in rubber estates that only have electricity for few hours?
All i heard was greed greed greed, and no proper solution, all was WE WE WE, not Malaysia, the nation needs
Where is the racial integration.......
Well the riches covered their a$$es again
All political parties seem to be for the rich only.

 Mc D index - by @lbert
  Posted:22/07/2005 - 19:34 - in category: general
Have a look at the mac D index here.
According to American economic vision it shows that the ringgit is undervalued by 59%.
But since these are american data we should better turn things around and say that the dollar has a 59% to high value, so a big mac in the US should cost 4.50 not 3.06 because it is their money that is the real toilet paper....

 Finally depegged.... - by @lbert
  Posted:22/07/2005 - 10:44 - in category: politics Malaysia
Yes but not uncontrolled!
The repegging of the yuan (renminbi) against a basket of currencies might make the yan 2.75% more expensive against the dollar say some experts. So what has Malaysia to expect.... a ringgit at $2.75 or i doubt whether any lower.
But there might be a totally unexpected other effect. Since China and Malaysia dont peg to the $ anymore there is no need to keep them as reserves!
When now HK and Taiwan change to a currency basket to, we might see oil rich countries running scared and start dumping $$$ as well. Which in turn finally will bring the dollar to its real value, and that is no more than 30% of its current value. If there are no takers for the dollars dumped the americans will have to swallow there pride and face their ridiculous budget deficit of trillions of dollars. So this might be the beginning of the end as the $$ as THE world currency. Any other country with such a deficit would have been bankrubt years ago....
Sorry to say, serves them right!
But for the riggit, it is still monopoly money because outside Malausia the ringgit is not existing, this renders this exercise almost useless

 F & N + rakan2 are cheating you - by @lbert
  Posted:18/07/2005 - 17:53 - in category: general
The prices of a bottle of coke or whatever drink you take have gone crazy in Malaysia.
Many supermarket have the guts to ask for RM 3.00 now....this was 2.50 befor petrol hike.
Petrol goes up 20 sen , drinks go up 20% totally unacceptable.
At this moment a bottle of coke in Malaysia is more expensive than Europe, where is on the average will set you 0.35-0.50 euro back.
Mind you that is just 2.20 or less in RM.
This is rediculous, Europe is 5 times as expensive as Malaysia.
Time for a complete boycot of F & N and friends. Malaysian consumers make yourself heard!

 Ayah Pin's Kingdom torched - by @lbert
  Posted:18/07/2005 - 12:49 - in category: general
Just heard on the news that a 'mob' of people torched Ayah Pins Kingdom early this morning.
The so called 'mob' were unknown people who torched buildings and cars with petrol.
May i say that this stinks...........
If you cant get him you do it on an other way.
I bet they will never find (better said are not willing to find) thw people who did this.
Another black day for Malaysia.
So much for the famous tolerance, SHAME on you who did it!
UPDATE
The news is out on TV1 the 'mob' were 30 UMNO members! Mind you Umno is again above the law. Will any action been taken? never.... Whether you agree or not you cannot destroy someones property!
And how much did UMNO pay the 'demonstrators' outside?
Shame on Malaysia again!

 UMNO threats... - by @lbert
  Posted:17/07/2005 - 10:52 - in category: politics Malaysia
During a heated debat in parliament the YB of Jerai (under which Yan is as far as i know)Datuk Badruddin Amiruldin was telling those who oppose Malaysia being referred to as negara Islam "leave the country. You can get out", he said.

At another moment he even used the word kafir which the Dewan was
unsure whether it was derogatory, unparliamentary or just plain rude.

In the Malay language, negara is both state
and country so YB learn the difference between the two.

The YB should do some homework, and read Malaysia's constitution.
Secondly he is another living proof how uneducated UMNO parlementarians are and how rude they can be. These are the countries leaders! Dont make me laugh...
If you dont agree get lost...... well thats what i want to say to the YB too!

 VISA what a cheapskates! - by @lbert
  Posted:16/07/2005 - 10:39 - in category: internet / computers
A fellow blogger 'blewtooth' registered the name visa.com.my for his blog 3 years ago.
It seems that originaly the name was registerd by Visa but they forgot to renew the subscription (STUPID for a giant like Visa)
Blewtooth used the name for his blog 'visa to the world'. Not with any intention to make money out of it.
Visa demanded through lawyers that 'blewtooth' abandons the subscription to visa.com.my, which he did because he does not have the money to fight Visa with all their lawyers. They can drag this case for years.
BUT: They even bluntly refused to compensate Blewtooth for the costs involved, and let him register another name. This is just a few hundred Ringgit!.
VISA YOU REALLY STINK MILES HIGH! Bunch of cheapskates!

Selangor half dry - by @lbert
  Posted:13/07/2005 - 23:06 - in category: general
Half Selangor seems to be dried out. No water or it is rationing.
Isn't this ridiculous, Malaysia one of the countries with the highest rainfall in the world has water rationing.
But than what do you expect, first world state (Khir Toyo says) but 3rd world ways of doing things.
Ravaged environment, hills chopped clean.
And than the way contractors can build their new townships.....
First you make a 'gurun'. Chop everything that is higher than 30 cm!
Than you level everything, destroy all top soil forever.
Than you build lousy quality houses which you sell with tremendous profits.
Than you throw everywhere a layer a 1-2 inch tar, you call it roads.
Make a few drains and dont bother where the water goes.

The stupidity is that with all the roads tarred even the 5 foot path ways, no water can penetrate in the soil anymore.
Ground water levels will go down and down.
Also no trees to hold water in the soil.
All new townships should have at least 5 foot path ways with tiles, not tar.
Small streets can be surfaced with klinckers (bata batu) instead of tar.
This way water can penetrate in the soil with rain, less water will go into drains, less flooding others will get.
But than Selangor is developed, nobody has to tell them what to do, they have Khir Toyo he will solve all within a month!

 The Star...really crap! - by @lbert
  Posted:13/07/2005 - 08:24 - in category: general
Want to read some spinned super noncense?
Read the economy pages of the star...
I quote:
Observers said the movement of the ringgit against other major currencies had very much followed the US currency since 1998 when the ringgit was pegged at RM3.80 to US$1.
Among the factors for the firming of the ringgit against the currencies of the country's trade partners is Malaysia's strong trade surplus.

Ever heard more nonsence? If the ringgit is pegged to the dollar, it goes up and down with the dollar, and trade surplus or trade deficit has no influence at all!
Next stupidity:
Unlike the yuan, which is believed to be about 10% undervalued against the US dollar, the ringgit was undervalued by between 5%-10% , so there is less pressure for it to be devalued alongside the yuan, said the economist.

The yuan will probably be REvaluated and not DEvaluated. And the Ringgit might be REvaluated.
Do your homework Sidek Kamiso! Do you understand what you write?

 Malaysia's cheap petrol.... - by @lbert
  Posted:12/07/2005 - 12:36 - in category: politics Malaysia
Malaysia is one of the countries with super cheap fuel.
Than on the other hand is there any efford by the government to reduce fuel/energy consumption?
ABSOLUTELY NO!
Look around you.....

People drive around in petrol gulping 4 wheel drives, off the road vehicles and other monsters.
They occupy twice the space of a normal car, and gulp twice as much.

People have aircon in their houses / offices, supermarkets and wherever you go.
Is there any efford to isolate buildings properly?
Sorry non whatshowever.

Recycling, only by mouth.

A modern building/house fitted with aircon should have:
Roof isolation with rockwool at least 4 inches(10 cm)
Double walls gaps filled with an isolator.
Double glass windows that lock properly (100%).
If possible polystyrene layer under the floor of at least 10 cm.
This consept will save around 50% on the 'cooling' bill!
Is it implemented, or is there anything partial implemented? NO
This means that house owners with AC houses / offices will see the bills for cooling go up 3-FOLD in the coming 2-3 years.

Cars should have a fuel consumption of above 1 liter per 13 km, as a minimum.
All cars (not lorries) consuming more should be forbidden to import.
Owners of petrol gulping 4 wheel monsters, expect you fuel bill to go up at least 4-5 fold in the coming 2-3 years.

Recycling is in its infancy, and not really promoted. This means that tons of energy are wasted in creating new instead of recycling.

Is this predicting doomsday? No it is reality!

Selangor developed next month - by @lbert
  Posted:11/07/2005 - 16:00 - in category: politics Malaysia
Selangor will be developed from next month on.
That means that as things are in developed countries, you will have local counsil elections.
Mayors that will be elected.
No more preferential rights for bumiputras because in a developed state those things do not exist and are not needed.
Money laundering will be prosecuted, vote buying has to be a criminal offence, punishable with a jail term, thats how it goes in developed countries.
All tenders by the government will be open for everybody and no longer for class F malay contractors only and all tenders will be public, everybody can see the prices tendered.
Government will have to do a responsible bookkeeping of all affairs, everything has to be published, nothing can be hidden anymore.
Because that is how things go in a developed country.
Hurry Khir Toyo only one month to go an you still have to do all your homework!

Thank you Al Quaida. - by @lbert
  Posted:08/07/2005 - 08:45 - in category: religion
It seems that probably Al Quaida was behind the attacks in London.
All was done in the name of Islam again. Well the Islamic world can be grateful again, because the followers of Islam will bear the brunt of this attack.
General opinion in Europe will turn again against Islam, and tolerance will go to a new depth. All the result of a buch of idiots wo even dont care if they get killed because they think they go to heaven.
Where do these people get their money from, that is really the serious question here. How are the financed, who helps them big time.
That is where to nail them, grab the financiers and close all channels to money. And solve finally the Palestinian problem, and leave Iraq to the Iraqies, maybe than the world might be a better place.
In London 30 dead, before that Madrid, Jakarta, Bali. In Iraq hundreds of inocent deads, in Palestine thousands.....all in the name of religion and freedom or whatever, 99,9% of them totally innocent!

 2005 Selangor, 2010 Penang Kedah - by @lbert
  Posted:08/07/2005 - 08:26 - in category: politics Malaysia
2005 Selangor a developed state, in 2010 Penang and Kedah.
Crazy these people .... 2020 the rest of the country?
With a first world infrastructure, a 3rd world mentality. The 2010 claim in Kedah is completely crazy, roads with potholes. Development without any planning (have a look in Sungai Petani, what a disaster) Have a look in Kuala Kedah, the junkyard of Kedah, and have a look at the new housing project for 'the less fortunate', if it was not sad you would die of laughing.
Penang also in 2010, developed? Well start cleaning up the island for 5 more years non-stop maybe it will look like something, pollution all around.
Save the environment big scale. George Town a protected heritage, cars out!
The same for Selangor. Developed? Yes turned into an ecological disaster, total neglect for the environment.
Shah Alam a city without any cinema or entertainment place, thats developed isn't it.
With Tsu Koon/Khir Toyo and the likes around, nothing will become a developed even not in 3030 only some will get very rich.
Give them Taliban status.......

 Racist...the proof without censor - by @lbert
  Posted:06/07/2005 - 12:54 - in category: politics Malaysia
Mohamed Nazri bin Abdul Aziz's behaviour in parliament i found uncensored on this website.
Have a look.
This person is a dato....dont make me laugh.
Is this the behaviour of a 'yang berhormat'?
Disgusting! And no action is taken, that makes it even more unbelievable.
Racial harmony.....where?
