Anti propaganda and a swim - by @lbert
  Posted:29/04/2003 - 21:38 - in category: politics Malaysia
Time after time i am suprised that in Malaysia no one in the goverment has ever heard of the saying "Anti Propaganda is the best Propaganda!".
This slogan is wasted up here.....
This week it was the economist who saw his sales lifted (sold out everywhere).
And of course time after time it is antipropaganda against the oposition mainly PAS (the islamic oposition that rules 2 states).
They get so much free publicity that they cannot wish for better propaganda in the runup to the next general elections.
Well would it be surprising if other states like Kedah would come under PAS??
I live in een area (daera) that is under PAS and whether you are pro or contra opposition, the only thing i can say: things improved a lot !!
Roads are better maintained, the place is more clean, better street lights.
Wouldn't it be nice if they would be able to clean the waterfalls around here too? The tidak apa culture of people here is terrible. After a holiday or weekend you can enjoy the waterfall with empty bottles, food containers, newspapers, disgarded underwear and other things. In one word SHAME!
It is to embarrassing to bring any friend there.

The economist causes uproar - by @lbert
  Posted:27/04/2003 - 23:20 - in category: politics Malaysia
Today plenty of news about an article in the economist. I spelled the article and could not find anything that would be 'offensive' just some nails on the head, and they might have a bit bitter taste for some people in the present administration. Anyway ministers and acting pm all had to tell there dismail with the story.
But i find it a balanced article, and if i see the list of references they give, this proves to be very true.
So are we gonna ban the economist in Malaysia? How many subscribers do they have up here anyway. Not many i suppose, so ... another storm in a glass of water.

What happened to the Naked Chef - by @lbert
  Posted:26/04/2003 - 18:13 - in category: TV
TV3 here was having a nice cooking program called the Naked Chef.
I was sitting if front of the tv a few weeks ago waiting for it to start.... but nothing the program vanished. Till this week, i found out what happened. The last time i watched i remembered the chef was cooking spare ribs....THAT DID IT... the program was banned to 1 o'clock at night. TV3 probably forgot to 'preview' and the thing was to 'sensitive' for muslim viewers?? Pathetic behavior of TV3. As if TV in Malaysia isn't bad enough already, now i gotta tape it....
