 7.5 % growth....wow - by @lbert
  Posted:27/05/2004 - 10:46 - in category: politics Malaysia
Well thats if we believe the central bank governor.
But 'urut huruf' is a specialty in Malaysia.
7.5% growth in gross terms, yes i can believe that.
But mind the inflation of at least 5% ( and not a fat ly of less than 2% as the goverment says).
Also mind the actual devaluation of the Ringgit against non US$ currencies of 10-15%.
So how much did Malayasia grow??
7.5-5-10 ....wow it went down by 7.5%
You see thats how you are being screwed.
Well what to expect with a bunch a ministers and other high ranking yb with an arrogance that is unbelievable....
Rafidah tops the list followed near by by Nazri and our Bow Tie minister.
Unbelievable people accept these people.

 A matter of ill-raising? - by @lbert

Maids abuse in Malaysia......a matter of ill-raising?

If i look around in Malaysia i see school children that are brought to school in a big fat mercedes or volvo (air con of course) after school picked up by the same means of transportation.
God beware that Mr Porky or Mrs Piggy has to walk one meter....
If they have to, they might fall apart.
After school than can go to the swimming club or KFC / Mac D or whatever (by car of course)
The Indonesian maid is already in the car, so Mr Porky and Mrs Piggy don't have to carry anything anymore from now on.
Let it be alone do something tiring.
Shoe lace of the RM 200 sportsshoes open, let the maid do it.
Go shopping? The maid can carry all the bags.
Go swimming? The maid can carry all the bags.
Feed those monsters ice cream of other unhealthy fast food? The maid does not need anything, just sit there and keep them clean.
I have seen little monsters of 9-10 years old scolding the maid.
Can you believe that? And this is not an uncommon thing.
So who is at fault?? Yes those parents who think they are so sophisticated because they got money!
Well they might have money but most have no-brains at all and have a less than 3rd world attitude.

Look around you see it everywhere.
Yes you can see it too...but you dont want to see it, thats the Malaysian attitude!

Than many think that a maid is some kind of posession that can work from 7 in the morning (or preferably 5)
till 10 or 11 at night.
Yes 7 days a week, because if the parents have their day off someone has to take care of their 'monsters'....

Contract finished, the maid is allowed to go back for a month.
Plenty even don't allow them this, 2 weeks is enough said a friend of mine i cannot do without her (the maid).
When i made a remark... they say i dont care....
I call it sick, these people work for a LOUSY 300- a month and still have to pay back all kinds of charges.
It is exploitation of the first order, NO excuses accepted sorry.
Once they get a real salary which is at least 600+ a month than it is work, now it is SLAVERY!

And the current parents with this attitude to their maids are raising children.
God beware the future!

Racial integration and education - by @lbert
  Posted:18/05/2004 - 21:02 - in category: politics Malaysia
Who will win is NTV7's latest invention.
Happily colored along racial lines.
Long live the racial intergration in Malaysia!!
Why do people have to go for National Service in order to create racial integration?
NTV7 and the rest as well know perfectly how to undo it.
If you want to have racial integration it is high time Malays learn to appreciate Chinese songs and Chinese to appreciate Malay songs.

This kind of programs should be totally mixed.
And if the program makers refuse to mix them, simply withdraw the license of these TV channels.
Of course for NTV7 it's all about money. But they also have a social function.
If they cannot honour their social function ,.... get lost.

Especially their edisi Siasat is getting one of the most irritating programs ever.
Everything about social ills, but nowhere a solution in sight.
Are rape cases going down if you punish harsher?? I really doubt.
It is a mental thing, something is rotten in the society.

Want to fight illigal racing? Do it the Thai way.
There they knock them of the motorbikes with a baseball bat.
That's a one time experience they will never do it again afterwards.
And than on top of that confiscate their motorcycles, even if financed, let them bleed.
Only if it is hurting the pocket a lot they learn.

But that is a fact with to many things. For most a speed trap ticket does not hurt, go to the balai and ask 'kurangan sikit'.
No after 3 tickets in a certain time take the licence away for 6 month, thats how things go in Europe.
Speed tickets, they go per kilometer 1-20 to fast say RM 10- 20-50 to fast RM 20-
50+ to fast RM 30-.
So speeding 190 km would cost you RM 200.- + RM 600.- + RM 500 = RM 1300-
Second time double. Thats european style.
And that really hurts, and non payment??
No problem they will sell off whatever posessions you have

 Nothing changes.... - by @lbert

Today its yes tomorrow its no.
Remember, not to long ago the price of chicken was not alowed to go up because the consumer had to be protected.
Now the same minister states the the price of chicken had to go up because of the increase of chicked feed and other costs.
What a rubish in Malaysia a kg costs now RM 5.40 in Indonesia it is 3.75.
What do they feed them in Indonesia?
Minister go and do your homework.
The next minister blurs that KL needs more roads to avoid trafic congestion.
NO KL does not need more roads it needs less cars, but since Proton has to be protected nothing is done.
Singapore has a restricted zone, Jakarta has 3 people in 1 car, and KL ?? KL has a colossal trafic jam.
People get poisoned by all the fumes, but that does not matter, Proton has to survive.
Well Proton will die anyway somewhere on the road, so better save the people.

And than the driving mentality of bus and lorry drivers......terrible!
Overtaking and cutting others, overtaking on double lines and speeding like crazy.
And than another minister is surprised about the number of road accidents.

But at least we get a clean goverment, all the small fry will be cought and the big fish will go free.

Than prices of new houses will go uo because of steel going up.
Wow the margins of developers will go down from 60% to 50% ??
Margins are ridiculous, quality of the end product is terrible!
Here in my area i have not seen one project that has value for money.
All is done to maximize profits, materials are all el-cheapo.
Well at least Malaysia boleh!

 Nothing changed.... - by @lbert
  Posted:05/05/2004 - 16:29 - in category: politics Malaysia
Comming back i read that Pak Lah's son in law Khairy will probably become the head of Khazana Malaysia's most powerfull goverment arm.
Well it proves that nothing has changed, it's all business as usual, they call it nepotism, in Indonesia they call it cronyism.
Who is the next member of the family to be enriched?
Is it ever going to change, or is it there for ever......
To hell with a clean goverment, face for the next debacle.
Comment by Albert
The PM today (6/5) said, he is not yet appointing anyone.
Only Khazana asked to appoint his son in law.
Does it make any difference?? Honey and the bee.

After 14 days Indonesia i am back.
Catching up with things here, after an extra long 1 may holiday.
At least here is progress....Indonesia will be a developping country forever.
I got the feeling that they even dont want any progress.
