The script is based on the idea of Somery weblog. This weblog has a nice layout.
This program had several problems, so a changed , added and removed a few serious errors and the result is a quite advanced blog.
Since setting 5 cookies was to much i reduced it to 2. Furthermore added a calender so you can go back in the history via the calender.

WebLog has the following features.

- With or without password protection
- Separate admin section with password protection.
- Blogs can be archived (not displayed any more)
- Calender for easy selection of history.
- Display of date/header of month contents.
- Email adresses that are displayed are protected from email grabbers.
- Modular setup so easy to modify.
- Message categories
- User levels.
- Unlimited reader comments.(optional per blog)
- Foto upload (max 9 per day)
- Archive/Delete Blogs per month.
- Comment editing/delete
- Layout colors via config.php
- Can show up to 999 categories
- NEW blog-search
- Display/Search per category- Also can be used as a news/data message system, with optional reader comments.
- Optional Poll available (admin controllable)
- Quick display of posted comments in last 1 or 2 days.
- Online email address check (checks life!) requires that email address is required in comments
- Display / saving of email addresses can be switched off. - English dictionary for administration, words can be added
- Preview of postings (comment and article)
- Speller in admin section (English)
- Separate Language section for your own language
- RSS feed

- Version 6.1+ has a simple English speller build in.
   You actually can create a flatfile for spelling in your own language (if you have time enough).

What is totally different from the original?
It is Global OFF compatible. Cookies have been simplified without loosing functions.
A few files and functions have been eliminated as they were only used 1 times.
It is by now totally different from the original.Tons of other changes.

An explanation on the life email-address check. (version 5.06+)
Set the admin setting: email check to ON.
It now also checks Yahoo addresses! (Version 6.0B+)
The email address will be checked, if found ok, a cookie is written on the client computer.
Next time the email address is NOT checked unless he changes to another email address.
This is a 'polite' way to avoid that all kinds of 'hate' comments or other rubish appear in your blog.
Of course there is no way to avoid false existing addresses.
Than rather stick to user registration.

This is my personal weblog, so please don't mess it up with non sence comments.

I kept all the original file names, and did not change the installation file.
I left the readme of somery inside and added my list of changes in changes.txt.

Feel free to change it to your layout ideas.

A few minor changes, calendar dates with links do not display funny stuff anymore.
